ROCKER
The curvature of the board plays one of the most key roles in wakeboarding – largely influencing lift, landing, speed, and weight distribution. If the major arc happens closer to the center of the board usually making one big constant curve, it is called a continuous rocker. When there is more of a flat spot in the center of the board, then the major arc happens later closer to the tip/tail - it is referred to as a 3-stage rocker. We also make two hybrid series that have a blend of the aforementioned rockers. Decide which rocker is right for you. We offer a better and a best in all three of these categories.
3-STAGE
An exaggerated rocker line with a later arc and a higher degree provides a more straight up explosive pop. This style of rocker creates more of an instant buck off the wake (combine that with our I-Beam core to experience everything a wake has to offer), for riders that are behind a big boat wake. Wakeboarders riding behind smaller wakes will still feel like they are getting a solid kick as well.
CONTINUOUS
An earlier arc with a mellower degree will have a smoother, more consistent glide up the wake. A rider will be able to carry more speed up the transition and land tricks farther out into the flats. Not quite the straight up snap of its counterpart, but they’ll have a faster, more predictable, effortless takeoff.
HYBRID
A combination of the traits of 3-Stage and Continuous rocker lines. Designed for a high-end rider that, depending on how they edge into the wake, the rocker will dictate what style of snap they will have. Also, for a mid-level rider that isn’t sure what style of hangtime they are looking for.
ENERGY
Not all boards jump the same because of the rocker – but also because of the ingredients on the inside. For decades we have used countless cores that store and or release energy for different reasons.
INSTANT
Instant energy takes place the second the tip of the board hits the wake. Riders like Danny want a fuse stringer board made extra stiff. This allows a quicker way to generate lift off the transition as energy takes place sooner with a super firm snap off the wake. For riders that can handle the added kick. We rate all of our boards from 1 to 10.
NEUTRAL
Doesn’t have the radioactive amplitude of instant energy, or the postponed kick of its stored counterpart. Neutral energy prefers to sit quietly in the middle of takeoff purgatory – not too quick, not too late. Nothing wrong with riding sans stigma.
STORED
Created for a rider who approaches and leaves the wake the way a snowboarder would a kicker or a skater would an ollie. The delay in the energy means the rider is given more time to generate the full lift from the power building from the tip all the way to the tail of the board. If riders don’t have that snow / skate timing off the wake – no problem – they will just have a mellower lift. A construction that’s easier on your body.
