Designed entirely for the avid waterman. We went deep into the outfitting process and borrowed some principles from lifelong NYC tailors who know what it takes to form a flawless fit. We paid $10k to this renowned seamster and in return he gave us the blueprint for the ideal proportions of chest dimensions. Once Mr. Manhattan got the specs dialed in, he then gave us what we feel to be the ideal ratio of sizes from XS all the way to a 4XL. So not only did we create the perfect fit, but we have it in 8 different sizes.
There was this homie named Capella from back in the day. He knew the earth was round. We ripped off his theories and made our vests round. A cylindrical fit that curves to your body unlike any flat vest. The only vest of its kind that has 3 unique qualities.

You know that annoying face you make when you must try on your buddy’s wet life vest? Not no more. We created a liner that greatly reduces water seeping into a vest, and most importantly, reducing the weird “wet vest” face.

Our most flexible and softest CGA foam in the Ronix line. It molds easily to the body, enhancing comfort during extended wear and reducing fatigue while you wakeboard, wakesurf or wakefoil.
The foam starts in the chest at 2” thick, then fades to 1” thick around your waist. Buoyancy where you need it, and mobility where you want it.

We tuck our foam in a harness so there is no shift between the neoprene shell and the inner foam.
It’s always a good thing to find a new way to take the edge off. Fortunately, we are making your life a little more stress free because every Ronix jacket has skived foam where a precise amount of foam is removed on the sides for a better fitting 45 ° angle – not having a steep sidewall like most traditional life jackets foams.

L50 VS. L70
Let’s talk Newtons. In water safety, a Newton is the standard unit used to measure buoyancy, or the lifting force of a life vest. Roughly 10 Newtons equals 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of flotation. For years, U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets required a minimum of 70 Newtons of buoyancy, providing approximately 7 kilograms (15.4 pounds) of lift. For 2027, that changed. North America has now approved 50 Newton life jackets, aligning with standards that have existed in many other parts of the world for years. What does that mean? The new L50 category sits roughly halfway between a traditional impact jacket and a conventional L70 Coast Guard Approved vest. It isn’t designed for everyone. Instead, it offers strong swimmers in calm, sheltered conditions with immediate rescue access a thinner, lighter, and more flexible alternative. Less flotation. More mobility. A new option for riders who prioritize freedom of movement without sacrificing Coast Guard approval.

The Capella Story
Back in the day they figured out the Earth isn’t flat - why did it take this long to realize your vest shouldn’t be either? The only vest of its kind with a round cylinder function giving extra rib protection and a seam running diagonally across your back allowing movement that was only previously reached by tree inhabiting primates. One day we sat down wondering how a t-shirt is made since in most cases there is never a seam. Because of that you have a true formed fit wrapping all the way around your body. Yet vests always have a cut line going down the rib cage. An easier way to make a vest for sure, but a rider doesn’t have the same side protection, or the best ergonomically correct fit around their torso. Contoured to your body, flexing with a rider during an aerial assault without any hindrance. Freedom of mobility that was once only harvested from the greatness of those non buoyant impact jackets. Why is it called the Capella vest you ask? Way back when, everybody was saying if you sail in one direction for too long you will fall off the face of the Earth, but Capella and his homies knew otherwise. Smart cats, and we are trying to pick up where they left off with a design of water suspension attire that is meant to be constructed with a round curvature and a truly form fit. So don’t ride in this oversized armhole vest for us.
